Senior fun day 2018

On the 7th of december 2018 totara team done a fun day.There were 6 choices.There was cooking,sports,science, swimming,slip and slide and candy can mouses.My favorite was the slip and slide because we could go in a group and run and slide on our knees or tummy.So we did 3 in the morning and 3 in the secound block.The first one what i done was the candy can mouses and that was a really cool activity.

The secound thing was sports then the last one was science.Then we had morning tea and  went back into our activites.The next one what we done was we went in the pool with Mrs todd and with Mrs Nelson there was slip and slides.After that i went to cooking and got candy floss and waffles.It was a really fun day.

This week we have been practicing for athletics day for monday the 5th of november.I've practised long jump with Mrs todd.What you do is you have a good run up and then jump as far  as you can and land with two feet.Also there was shot-put with Mrs hunter.What you do in shot put is you put the ball behind your ear and push it as far as you can.

Setting goals

Maths
What I would like to improve for my maths is my divsion by making a game at home.

Reading
What I would want to improve for my reading is vocabulary so I can put interesting ideas in my work. I am interested in reading bigger chapter books now.

Writing
What I would like to improve for writing is to plan and get all my ideas and make my writing interesting.

Taniwha and Rangi

On tuesday 30th of july we did some cool stuff.So we got to choose what we want to do. It was some fun activitys there was a couple of them.I did brain montesers. Brain montesers is when you use your brains to think.So first we went into the hall and this man talked about steam and he told us this story that these kids got  stuck in a cave.I did it with Emily R,Molly and Madeline K.Then we moved off to the activity that we did.Pattrick and nyla was going to take us and first what they done was introduce them to us.So they showed us a slide and we watched a viedo.We had to figure out how to make people go over the bridge and theres only aloud 2 people at a time.Then they taught us there game and it was really cool.After that we had to make our own games.Me,Emily R,Molly and Madeline K made a game altogether.                                                                                                                                                     

Hei tiki's

On June 26th 2018 room 3 went on a trip to the Rotorua Tea Rooms to learn about Hei tikis.We got to look at the carved green tiki.They had differnt colors.We learnt about differnt people and got into groups and we got to fell the tiki.We had to put on some gloves because other wise we would get germs on it.And then we made some tikis's.We learnt how to sow buttons.How I did mine, was i did a blue body around it,red down the bottom,yellow arms,red and blue eyes and a pink nose.
