Julie Voss

On October the 24th Julie Voss came and taught us about sign langue. We went in room 4.When she was talking she used  her hands to talk all about it.Julie came because she wanted to come and talk to us about some things like sign langue.She told us that she teaches a deaf boy at west brook Primary.She taught us how to say thank you and please and some other things.We learned how to do our names in sign langue.

Body systam

Last week we made some body parts out of play doe.The Teacher gave us something to make.we made the heart we done the lungs,legs,arms,hips and the spin.Who i done it with was Flossy,Alan and Jake.Our color was blue,red and yellow we worked all together we each had a turn doing a part of the body.
My favorite part was doing the lungs but it was really hard to make it and at the end it was really hard to take it off.

Dance

This term did dance with Mrs Dinniss we did a couple of folk dances they were the seven jumps chicken dance and cotton eye.The seven jump dance is from Denmark the chicken dance is from Germany and the Cotton Eye Joe is from line dance USA.I really liked the chicken dance because it has 3 parts of the dance.


Do I like dance?

Yes I do like dance because it as style.Also I will get better at dancing and you can also watch some videos and they can teach you some things like the running man,moon walk and also the shuffle. It also takes some time to learn it in a few weeks then when you get the hand of it you can show the class it and you can do it all the time like at home.


What we did moves we did?
We did the running man,moon walk and also the shuffle dance.My favorite was all of them because first the shuffle step is so you can move your feet also the running man is you can do the running man forward and back.The next won is the moon walk i like it because you can move back wards.

This week it is Maori langue.We have been going to different classes and we have been learning about Maori
langue,numbers and our Tonagas. How we made them was we got some flour and some dough we put it into a Tonaga shape.Today on Friday we painted our Tonaga green it was a really shallow and dark color I loved it.Also we went to room 2 and we got a string.We watched a video and done some different tricks they were the cup and sources and the tower.

Marist colts










Last Friday the marist colts came to st Marys.We had a powhiri we welcomed marist in and we were doing a haka.And also they done a song and a haka for us.Then after all of the songs we talked about what we do at our school.And we needed to ask a question and one of the boys will come and talk about it.The values were courage,hope,faith,love,caring,supporting and respectful. 
ha ha now Mrs tootle is doing it i thought that Mrs tootle!!!! wasn't going to catch it.But she did catch it it was so funny.Then Mr McMillan!!! did it and every time when people had a  turn we needed to do a count down and he caught it too.Then Mr V !!!went he  and we were counting down again  and also Mr V caught it.

My planet is mars it's color is orange.My distance from the sun is 228 km from the sun which is a long way.It is 195 desires in mars which is really hot.Mars is a mostly dry desert with caters,canyons and volcanoes.

$2 so like some chips that would be past  $2 also donuts that
is past $2.But something for $2 would be really hard find
because we had to find stuff in the shopping new's paper.But
the hard thing at the end was really hard because we needed to

I liked...making all of this from our project.I like doing the waves and the wind turbines it was really really fun.

Next time I would...make something else for our project  because we don't have to do the same thing every time.

Room 3 went to cross country we all went in cars to cross country the first thing when we got there was we needed to find our houses.So we puted our bags on the mat.Then they called out the names first it went 7 then 8 then 9 and then 10 and then 11 and then 12 years old well we was finshed i went home it was really fun.

Why do children like wearing uniforms?we end up in the same uniforms for 5 days a week.5 days is to long to wear school uniforms every day 5 times.I mean how would we want to do that i you we all have the same.

Also why fleshes and our normal jursses like polar flesses and our normal jersses what we are aposto wear.Why do we wear the same tops we should do boys wear blue and girls wear white.5 days a week is to just to long for school so we should make 4 days Why should we wear school uniforms we should wear maftey or something.can/ i just hate wearing my uniform I have like jacket,tops and shoes what we can wear.

Also why do we wear dresses in summer and the boys wear short sleeve and in winter the girls wear a skivvy and a dress and socks and black shoes then what the boys wear in winter is skives and shorts.And the boys wear grey socks and black shoes like the girls in winter the boys and girls wear black sandals.

Cross crountry

On the 26th of May we went to cross country we went in cars where we ran was in the red woods.What happend was we needed to set down and wait until our age gets called out.Our whole class came to the Cross country to do it also it was cold when we was waiting until our age was called out then when we ran it got hotter.The run was 2.7k it was a really close run.When we were running i got a little tired but i just keeped on raining when i was running that whole way.It was really fun because you ran super fast and also wind was coming to me.When we were running there was parents there so we couldn't get lost.I saw my dad and also my mum they were chearing for me.When i was there i heard lots of chairing i checked the board what we came i came 5th in whakaue after that i putted on my jersey because it was really cold and i had a big drink and then i went home it was the best day ever.

Plastic bags

  Did you know that fish eat plastic!People also eat fish.The sea is also polluted also fish can get sick toxic fish.All of the plastic has been going into the water.Fish have been geting trapped in plastic.Also fish has been dying from plastic and they have been trying to get rid of plastic from the super market.


Also 5.25 Trillion pices of rubbish come every secound.Some animals think plastic is food but it isnt.To the top that up 8 million tons of rubbish have been droped worlds.Budget dumps!why we should not do this 2 facts,why is our world selling plastic all of plastic has been going into the water when they drop plastic at the beach.So when wind comes all of the plastic into the water.2 1.facts some animlas think that plastic all of there food but it isnt.2. if you leave your rubbish on the ground you pick it up so we don't get plastic in the water.


Sometimes plastic gets in the water.So stop puting plastic bags in the water like other plastic Bottles in the water and also cans,paper and cardboard.So stop puting plastic bags and other plastic bottles in the water.Plastic lowcost and light weight and also darability.If we don't have plastic 1.45 million people wont have a job.5.25 trillion plastic pices.Reduce,Rethink,Report,recycle and Refuse.

On Monday we went to the Kawaru hot pools so we got changed in the changing rooms then we needed to go on the grass.So why we needed to go the grass was because we needed to listen to the life gaurd about all of the rules.So when he said we can go in the pool we went into the pool.So what we played in the swimming pool was octopus so Teauila's dad was in so Abigal got caught 1st then vanessa got caught 2nd then Aroan got caught the 3rd time.And then we went into the spa then we went back into the big pool again.Then the little as pool.And then we needed to get out so we got changed.Then we met under the shelter.Then we went in our cars so i was in my mums car and who i had in my mums car was Ava,Alexis and Skyla so we went back to the marae and that day was really fun.
This is me when I was tubing on the Rangitaiki river.The person who was by me was Vanessa and the guide was Josh.Josh helped us get to the other side.When we jumped in the water with our tubes it felt like jelly because it was really really cold.Then when we were at half way it got warmer and also Josh was telling us to go right or left.We then were at the branch we needed to go to the right.

At the start the current was going slow and when we were at the middle the current went faster.Me and Vanessa was at the front by Josh.Then we went to the side because we were finished.So the next group who went was Delana,Skyla and Teuila went for their turn.So Me and Vanessa went back up to the Marae.


Then we got changed in the Marae and after we got changed we played some games in the Marae.Me and Vanessa played last card then the other group was back.So the other group went tubing so the other boys was  waiting for there turn to go tubing. So while the other boys went tubing the girls was playing volleyball.The boys was playing a game with the man.






Camp Writting 2017

Before we went on the blue raft we put our life jackets on . I also put on a helmet.I was very nervous but excited at the same time.We had to listen carefully to the guide.We jumped in the blue raft and had a practice back and forward with our paddles to learn about being safe on the water.When we jumped in the blue raft the man pushed it hard into the water and we were on our way down the rapids.We all screamed really loud all the way down the river.There was lots of bumpy rocks and rapids.We needed to row really fast and dodge the trees and rocks.We went past the bridge and waved out to the rest of the class.We got to the finish line and had so much fun they said the next ride would be a race.We had to walk back to the start and wait for our turn.Our other class members were waiting on the bridge ready for our countdown.3 2 1 and we were off!We were paddling real fast and trying to keep ahead of the other blue raft.When we were nearly at the finish line our blue raft spun around 2 times.Then we hit a big rock and we all screamed "arrrghhh".We had to hurry to beat the other blue raft,but their blue raft spun around really fast.So we became the winners!!!!!Our rafting was finished for the day.We helped put the equipment back in the van.Most of us had never been white water rafting before.I really enjoyed it and would love to do it again.

How Maui got the sun

                               How Maui got the sun

Maui is going to fight this other boy who fights lots of times.so Maui starts to fight the boy and the other boy was really tough.so maui kept on fighting  and he tried his best.And Maui and the other boy just given up.And then Maui went back to his brothers and they went in the waka.


And went to the sun and the sun came up because they tied the rope up.So they were pulling the sun because they did not have any sun because they wanted it morning and then night.Because they really wanted that sun so they pulled it really hard and they nearly had it and then it dropped and they tried to pull it up again.

And they pulled it really hard and then they got it.They were really happy that they had sun.And then they went back in there waka so they can get back home.Then they cooked the kai and they had a hangi and they loved the hangi.So it was nearly night time so they ate there kai then they went to bed and when they were a sleep they were hoping that the sun will come up when it is morning and the were hoping that the sun will rise down when it is night.So when it was morning the sun come and it raised up.So they were really happy and then they had breakfast then they went for a lake ride in there waka.


Then they went back to there place and they had their lunch and what they had for there lunch was some toast with bacon scrambled eggs and spegty.



And then they wanted to play fighting so they played fighting And the brother said i'll be in maui’s team and then maui said no i need no one.



And then the other brother said ok.So they started to fight and the 3 brothers were winning so maui tried his best and he started to get better then it was over so maui won and the brothers weren't sad they just said good job maui and maui said thank you.So it was dinner time so they had there hangi because they love hangis.



And they loved there hangi so that's why they always haves hangis because they love the potato and the kamo kamo and they all so like the stuffing and chicken and meat.
